Is This Package Right for You?
Who This Package Is For
Children Wellness is a heart checkup package for children and teenagers. Parents may choose it to check on their child's heart, for example when there is a family history of congenital heart disease, when the child seems to tire easily during activity, or before the child starts regular sports. Some heart conditions in children cause no clear symptoms, so a checkup helps parents and doctors understand the child's heart.
What Is Checked
- Electrocardiography (ECG) records the heart's electrical activity through small stickers (electrodes) placed on the chest, arms, and legs. It shows the heart's rhythm and rate.
- Echocardiography is an ultrasound of the heart. A small probe with gel is moved over the chest to see the heart's chambers, walls, valves, and blood flow, including structural problems such as a hole in the wall between the heart's chambers.
Neither test uses needles, causes pain, or uses X-rays. The package does not include blood tests, so your child does not need to fast.
Your Child's Checkup Day
Your child comes with a parent or guardian, who stays with them throughout. After registration, your child has the ECG and echocardiography in the order arranged by our staff. The whole visit takes about 2 to 3 hours. Your child needs to lie still during the tests, so a shirt that opens easily and a favorite toy or book can help.
After the Results Are Ready
Results are available within 2 to 3 working days. The package includes consultations with a general practitioner and a pediatric cardiologist. The doctors explain the results to you and suggest next steps if needed, such as regular follow-up or further tests. This package is a screening, not a diagnosis. If your child seems very short of breath, has bluish lips or skin, or faints, go to the nearest emergency department right away.

Understand What the Results Mean and Their Limits.
Results Need to Be Read in Context.
A health checkup helps identify risk factors and early findings. A good result does not guarantee the absence of disease, and some findings may need further tests.
A checkup package does not replace a doctor's assessment of symptoms. If you have severe or sudden symptoms, go to the nearest emergency department right away or call Heart Attack Center 1500 258, rather than waiting for a checkup appointment.
Educational basis: NHS, benefits and limits of screening. The right package is decided with a doctor.

Questions before You Book.
Here are answers to questions parents often ask about the Children Wellness package.
How should I prepare my child for the checkup?
Your child does not need to fast and can eat and drink as usual. If your child takes regular medicine, continue it as their doctor advises and bring a list of the medicines. Also bring your child's health records and any earlier heart test results. Dress your child in a shirt that opens easily, and bring a favorite toy or book to help them stay calm while lying down.
Will the ECG or echocardiography hurt my child?
No. Neither test uses needles or X-rays. For the ECG, a few small stickers are placed on the chest, arms, and legs. For echocardiography, a small probe with gel is moved over the chest; the gel may feel cool. Your child needs to lie still for a while, and a parent or guardian stays with them throughout.
How is this package different from adult checkup packages?
Children Wellness is designed for children. It focuses on heart structure and rhythm through ECG and echocardiography, without blood tests, and includes a pediatric cardiologist consultation. Adult packages such as All Hearts All Care and Cardiovascular Prime Screening assess adult risk factors through blood tests, a treadmill test, and CT scans. If your child already has a heart diagnosis and regular follow-up, seeing a pediatric cardiologist directly may be more suitable.
When are the results ready, and who explains them?
Results are ready within 2 to 3 working days. A general practitioner and a pediatric cardiologist explain the ECG and echocardiography results to you. You can also ask what to keep in mind when your child exercises. Prepare your questions in advance, for example about symptoms your child has had or heart conditions in the family.
What if a heart problem is found?
Not every finding means a serious illness. Some minor conditions only need regular monitoring. The pediatric cardiologist will explain the findings and suggest next steps, such as regular follow-up, further tests, or a treatment plan. If your child seems very short of breath, has bluish lips or skin, or faints, do not wait for a scheduled appointment; go to the nearest emergency department right away.
