Dr. BRM Ario Soeryo Kuncoro, Sp.JP(K), is a cardiologist at Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital, Jakarta. Dr. Ario completed medical school at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, in 2000, then joined the medical staff of the National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita, Jakarta, and developed a focus on echocardiography. Dr. Ario earned the cardiology specialist title from the same faculty in 2006.
Dr. Ario's clinical experience covers heart valve disease and congenital heart disease, heart valve interventions and heart failure interventions, and interventional echocardiography, meaning echocardiography used during interventional procedures, including those for congenital heart disease. Advanced training includes Advanced Tissue Doppler and Speckle Tracking Echocardiography at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney (2008), a 3D transesophageal echocardiography workshop with live scanning at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2009), and an advanced echocardiography observership at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney (2012). Dr. Ario holds accreditation in transesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography from the European Association of Echocardiography (EAE).
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Ario is a faculty member in the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia, and is involved in cardiology residency education and advanced echocardiography training. Dr. Ario serves as President of the Indonesian Society of Echocardiography (ISE), Chair of the Echocardiography Working Group of the Indonesian Heart Association (PERKI), and Head of the Medical Division of the Indonesian Heart Foundation (YJI), and holds the titles Fellow of the Indonesian Heart Association (FIHA) and Fellow of the ASEAN College of Cardiology (FAsCC).
